Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana calls for peace ahead of 2020 general election

As part of efforts to build and promote peace in the upcoming 2020 general election, the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana has called on religious bodies in the Upper East Region to seek and pray for Allah’s blessings towards it.

According to the Council, peace is a replication of national development in every country hence,people should endeavor maintain or not cause the destabilization of it.

Speaking at the launched of the 57th National Annual Quranic Recitation in the Bolgatanga Central Mosque in the Upper East Region, President and Leader of the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana Sheikh Khalifa Abul-Faidi Abdulai Ahmad Maikano has cautioned religious bodies to always be tolerant.

“Peace and unite, and nothing more can build this country and the world as a whole. Let us use religion and the message in it to spread peace amongst ourselves. That is all that Allah wants from us as humans.”

Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana is a body under Sheikh Abul Faidi Maikano RTA that stands for unity and development.

The National Secretary of the Tijaniyya Muslim Council of Ghana,Sheik Ahmad Abdallah also explained that not only was the launched of the 57th National Annual Quranic Recitation necessary to them,it was an opportunity to tell their Muslim brothers and sisters across the country that the meaning of “Tijaniyya” means peace and in truth.

“We spread the word of peace and in this event, we want all our brothers and sisters to start praying for Allah’s blessings for a peaceful and unified election coming 2020.”

He, however, appealed to the Muslim council in the region to encourage the youth to always take Quranic Recitation serious as that will help them to be more unified and dignified in their respective societies.

Meanwhile,Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Joseph Amiyuure Atura Amiyuure, also used the gathering to encourage the youth to be vigilant and not let any politician use them for their greedy agenda.
