The Upper East Regional Chapter of Bonaboto, a socio-cultural organization representing Bolgatanga, Nangodi, Bongo, and Tongo, has set an ambitious agenda for 2025 focused on ensuring the development of the region and its surrounding areas.

Speaking during its annual get-together event, the Regional Chairman, Dr. Esmond Agurgo Balfour, emphasized the group’s resolve to demand results from policymakers and government officials, warning that politicians who fail to meet the expectations of the people will face consequences.

“The time for politicians to get out of the tent of complicity is now,” Dr. Balfour stated. He urged leaders to adopt a new approach that prioritizes development and youth empowerment in the region, adding that Bonaboto will no longer tolerate excuses for underdevelopment.

Bonaboto, known for its advocacy in poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development, has been a significant force for change in the Upper East Region. Through partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations, the group has implemented various community-driven projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.

The event also featured a call for unity by Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive Rex Asanga. He commended Bonaboto’s efforts and appealed to the organization to intensify its advocacy for development-centered initiatives. “Bonaboto is a name to reckon with and should be held with unity,” Mr. Asanga remarked.

The gathering brought together people from diverse backgrounds, highlighting the shared commitment to advancing the region’s development. Bonaboto’s declaration signals a renewed sense of urgency in addressing critical challenges and holding leaders accountable for their promises.
