Thomas More, an advocate for community action and development and known member of the National Democratic Congress, has announced his bid for a Council of State seat.
With over 50 years of unwavering dedication to healthcare delivery, nursing education, political leadership, and youth empowerment, Mort is a distinguished figure in the Upper East Region.
His journey, marked by resilience and sacrifice, underscores his commitment to public service and the NDC’s ideals.
As a founding member of the NDC in the Upper East Region, More reminded the electoral college of the pivotal role he has played in shaping the party’s vision and strategies.
Despite his significant contributions—including selling his properties and car to support the party during critical moments—Mort has often been overlooked for key appointments.
Recounting his struggles, he shared: “In 1993, I was promised the position of DCE for Bolgatanga, but someone else was handed the role at the last minute. Similar promises in 1995 and beyond were also unfulfilled. Yet, I remained loyal and continued to work tirelessly for the party.”
Now, as he seeks a seat in the Council of State, More faces stiff competition from other seasoned political figures in the region. His campaign is built on the principles of inclusive governance, aligning with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of ensuring representation for all, including marginalized groups such as persons with disabilities.
More explained that his ability to bridge divides, foster unity, and drive development makes him a strong contender.
