Disability organizations endorse Thomas More for U.E regional rep on Council of State

The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) and the Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations (GFD) have declared their unwavering support for Thomas Moore as the ideal candidate to represent the Upper East Region on the Council of State.

In a press statement signed by Matthew Annor Kodom, National President of Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled, the organizations described Thomas More, the CEO of Ayamfoya Memorial Clinic and a member of the Upper East Regional NDC Council of Elders, as a dedicated public servant, healthcare advocate, and social welfare champion whose leadership will bring progress to the region.

According to the statement, Mr. More’s extensive experience in public service and community development makes him the best candidate for the position.
“His steadfast commitment to development, inclusivity, and governance makes him the right leader to advocate for the aspirations of our people at the national level,” the statement read.

The groups also highlighted his contributions to healthcare and social equity, emphasizing that his presence on the Council of State will help shape policies promoting economic empowerment, social progress, and sustainable development in the region.

The disability organizations particularly commended Mr. More’s dedication to the inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and other marginalized groups in governance and development.

“His unwavering dedication to inclusivity, particularly for PWDs and marginalized groups, makes him a strong advocate for equity and social justice. His track record of service, coupled with his passion for empowering communities, positions him as the best choice to represent our region,” the statement emphasized.

The GSPD and GFD have called on delegates, stakeholders, and citizens of the Upper East Region to rally behind Thomas Moore, urging them to vote for him to ensure that regional concerns receive the needed attention at the highest level of governance.

“Let us unite behind Hon. Thomas More for a prosperous, inclusive, and progressive Upper East Region,” the statement concluded.
